TORONTO'S INTEGRATIVE WHOLE HEALTH CLINIC AND BOUTIQUE PILATES STUDIO

Clinical Pilates
Recover, rehabilitate, and restore with Clinical Pilates, a movement-based approach that bridges the gap between traditional rehabilitation and mindful exercise. Our programs are designed and led by licensed healthcare professionals who integrate clinical expertise with Pilates principles to help you move better, feel stronger, and prevent future injuries.
What is clinical pilates?
Clinical Pilates uses movement as medicine. It’s a personalized, evidence-based form of exercise therapy that supports injury recovery, improves mobility and strength, and enhances overall function. Unlike general fitness Pilates, Clinical Pilates is guided by a healthcare provider who tailors each movement to your body’s specific needs and goals.

what to expect
Each program begins with a comprehensive assessment addressing your specific concerns and goals. Your practitioner will review your health history, identify your movement patterns, postural imbalances, and areas that would benefit from strength, stabilization and mobility. From there you will receive:
- A customized Pilates-based program that will be carried out under the supervision of your practitioner
- A treatment plan that includes a clinically indicated number of sessions
- Ongoing reassessments of your progress and program adjustments to your treatment plan if needed
- Guidance on safe progression to independent or small group Pilates classes

FAQs
1 / Are Clinical Pilates sessions covered by insurance?
Clinical Pilates sessions at Peridot Wellness are provided by licensed healthcare practitioners, so they may be eligible for coverage under your extended health benefits. We do not offer direct billing at this time, but you’ll receive an appointment receipt that includes your practitioner’s credentials. This can be submitted to your insurance provider under their licensed designation (Chiropractic or Naturopathic services).
2 / What type of equipment is used during Clinical Pilates?
Sessions are performed on the Pilates Reformer, allowing for precise, supported, and progressive movement. Depending on your treatment plan, your practitioner may also incorporate the Pilates Chair and smaller props such as resistance bands, stability balls, and magic rings to target strength, stability, and mobility.
3 / What should I wear to my session?
We recommend wearing comfortable, form-fitting workout clothing that allows for easy movement and helps your practitioner observe your posture and alignment. Grip socks are required.
4 / How long are Clinical Pilates sessions?
Each Clinical Pilates session is 50 minutes, allowing time for individualized guidance and exercise progression.
5 / Do I need previous Pilates experience??
No prior Pilates experience is required! Each session is fully guided and tailored to your individual abilities and goals. Your practitioner will teach you how to move safely and confidently, whether it’s your first time on the reformer, returning after an injury or time away from movement.
