Are you experiencing pain or dysfunction in multiple areas? We can help you get back to moving through our holistic physiotherapy approach. We strongly believe that in order to effectively address your concerns, we must take a look at the body in its entirety. Previous injuries or issues in other areas can be connected to your current area of pain or dysfunction. Regardless if your problem is your pelvic floor, persistent pain or ankle sprain, our physiotherapist will use her specialized knowledge to provide you the most current, evidence-based physiotherapy care. How do we do this? We take a detailed medical history, complete a physical assessment to gain an understanding of how your body is currently functioning, and create a treatment plan together that addresses the areas of your body that are connected to your primary complaint.

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Pelvic health physiotherapy is an emerging area within physiotherapy and urogynecology that involves the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions in men and women. Pelvic floor dysfunctions can present themselves in a variety of ways, including pain, weakness, and core dysfunction. To effectively address the pelvic floor an internal digital examination is completed, providing vital information about the state of your pelvic floor and its synergistic relationship with your core. Treatment will be based on your specific needs and goals.

Orthopaedic Physiotherapy

Orthopaedic physiotherapy involves assessment and treatment of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system and its complex interactions. Your treatment may involve manual therapy, exercise, relaxation techniques, and acupuncture. The goal of your treatment is to address not only your symptoms, but also the source of your problem. When this system is not functioning appropriately it can lead to pain, weakness, and dysfunction.

Medical Acupuncture

We provide contemporary medical acupuncture. Contemporary medical acupuncture uses similar principles as traditional acupuncture but focuses on improving communication between your nerves and muscles through electro-stimulation. Medical acupuncture has been shown to improve blood flow, reduce pain input to affected tissues, relax tense muscles, improve muscle activation, and restore joint function. Medical acupuncture has also been shown to improve pain thresholds in individuals with persistent pain, such as fibromyalgia and myofascial pain.
